Our Values

Compassion, Accountability, Relationships and Excellence are the core values for American Senior Communities. These words not only form an acronym for C.A.R.E., they are also guiding principles to help each of us make the right choices. They not only frame our decisions, but they also guide our actions. These values provide the framework for all of our relationships with our customers, staff, family members and community at large. It’s how we live out our mission together. This is accomplished by possessing a genuine love for the people we serve and for those who are serving along side of us. It’s not just a job, but a calling, a purpose, a way to become fully alive as we each choose to live a life dedicated to serving others!

#PROJECTINSPIRE

AT ASC, IT’S NOT JUST A JOB, IT’S A CALLING.

We have been serving Hoosiers since 2000. We take pride in having the ability to help healthcare professionals strive in their day-to-day responsibilities while also offering them resources tailored to further their career in long-term care. Join us throughout our journey with #PROJECTINSPIRE as we recognize members of our team that have created their own #ASCExperience. Utilizing different avenues offered for advancement within our communities you will meet a diverse group of professionals. From CNAs to Executive Directors, each member has their own personal ASC Experience. Which story will inspire you?

Chris Taylor, RN

Director of Nursing Services   “I was 13 years old and my mom being diagnosed with breast cancer was the trajectory for my career choices. I would watch the nurses provide care for her during her battle and I knew then that I wanted to be an RN. I graduated high school (on time) with two children and went to community college and earned my LPN and then being a single parent of 4 children I placed my dreams on hold. I often told myself I would return when the children were grown. I tell them that twenty years later I feared that I would never return to school because of time and finances. I am always very excited as I near the end of my story because I tell them about The One Program and my dreams were realized. I explain the program and can see their eyes light up knowing they too could receive the same benefits. I have been with ASC for nine years.”

Steve Hembree, RN

Wound Nurse   “I have worked at ASC for 5 years. This was my first job since returning from my tour in Iraq in 2011. The opportunities are limitless. They have CNA classes, CNA to QMA, O2NE program, tuition assistance, AIT programs. Essentially, if you want it, ASC offers it. ASC is very generous and rewarding to its employees.”

Kiana Hinton, RN

Clinical Education Coordinator   “My career goals when I first started were to find a place that I could learn and grow within the nursing field. I wanted to further my education and explore other areas of nursing while working for a company who values and appreciates the staff as well as those whom they serve. I have been with American Village for ten years.”

Autumn Buckler, RN, WCC

Director of Nursing Services   “I am actually what I like to call a “Come back kid”. I went PRN with ASC for a year to work at the hospital in ICU. I thought I needed to expand my knowledge and do a different type of nursing. What I learned during my year away is that no matter what type of nursing you are in, nothing compared to the impact I get to make in the lives of others in LTC(Long-term Care). The residents become family to you, they miss you when you leave, are glad when you return, they notice when you have changed something about your appearance and so on. That is something you can’t find in any setting but this. I also noticed that the care I was providing was not much different than what I provide in LTC. But here at ASC my residents remember me and the difference I am able to make to them on a daily basis. I have been with ASC for five years.”

About American Senior Communities

Our Company

At a time when home and health services are seen as fragmented and, consequently, frustrating, where can today’s senior adults find a housing community to call home? That was our challenge, and the reason we created American Senior Communities. We’ve created senior living communities specifically designed to serve today’s seniors by providing a multitude of lifestyle choices with integrated services and amenities. Each American Senior Community is part of the neighborhood in which it exists. Our leaders and staff live in surrounding areas and know the community well. We value the same things in life that you do. The foundation of our senior living communities is based on the knowledge that we’ll be part of your neighborhood for many, many years. When someone chooses to live in one of our retirement communities or health care facilities, we become an extension of their family. We take the time to get to know each of our residents and their families on a personal level. Our communities are made up of individuals, and with that in mind, we focus on serving individual needs.

Our Vision A world-class health organization in your local community that does the right thing, at the right time, the right way for the right reason. An honorable and trusted employer that celebrates excellent quality outcomes through innovative, customer-focused services.

Our Mission To compassionately serve each customer with quality care and excellence through health solutions that foster independence and self-esteem.

Our Values

Compassion: Treating individuals with kindness, empathy and respect.

AccountabilityIndividual ownership for actions and results.

Relationships: Building and maintaining positive relationships through common purpose and open communication.
